I was born in an ice storm... I should be OK with this!

We broke out our camping equipment (just short of the tent) for food and warmth. This is me cooking eggs for breakfast on a propane burner.

Entering campus

Not my idea of a cozy picnic.

The tree I usually park under... but not today!

The little guy is hanging in there.

The news people are comparing this ice storm with the one back in 2000. So far, over 50,000 people do not have electricity... us included. I am desperate for a shower! I thought I was doing real well planning to be iced inside this week. I had tons of stuff for meals to cook, and stuff to do around the apartment. However, I didn't plan to be iced in without power. But Greg and I are making the best of it. We realized last night that the law school is open and warm. They have a little kitchenette that I can use, and internet so that Greg can work. I have heard it may be Saturday before we get our electricity back on. Let's pray not!!! But I guess there are other people that need it on before we do. If any of our friends that live nearby have power tonight, we may come crash your place and shower!

B-day Surprise!

Twinkle Toes

Megan, Autumn, Lee, and the 2 biggest pizzas ever.

All of the ladies...

Bonnie and Caroline

Cute moment... Caroline and Lakyn hugging on Tennille.

Amber and me

The official scores, boo!

Greg and I went bowling on Saturday night for Bonnie's surprise 30th b-day party. As you can see... we had a lot of fun! I had a real good time getting to know everyone even better. I prayed so hard that we would find as good of friends up here as we had in Little Rock, and was a bit disappointed when we didn't right away. Greg kept telling me to be patient, and he was right. I finally feel like we are making good friends and memories that we will always love and remember wherever life takes us. My bowling, however, not so hot. The bottom picture shows that I (player #3) bowled a 68. And that's with NO gutter guards, thank you. Maybe I need to take a few more lessons from my professional bowling dad and grammother. Greg bowled a 156. I probably don't need to mention that I have been hearing about it ever since. After bowling, we went back to some of the guys' house and played, you guessed it... more Rock Band.

A bit of good news concerning school (although I will be eating my words in June), it's sleeting tonight, and school has already been cancelled for tomorrow. We got out early today at 1:00. Greg and I worked out, rented a movie, made spaghetti, and are camped out for the next day or two. I just pray that our power doesn't go off! The weather man said this storm "could rival the storms of 2000." So I am pretending that I didn't hear him say that.

keep up the prayers...

Please continue praying for my family. The hardest part for me is that I cannot be close enough to help them. Gramps being gone is still very surreal for me. I tear up whenever I think about the fact that he is not here anymore. The early family Christmas that we had last month was so nice. It hurts to think about how happy we were then. Most of all, I worry about my family. Please keep praying.

Also, please continue praying for my friend, Bonnie. Our ladies Bible study group started a Beth Moore series tonight on Ester (Greg said there must be a lot of ESTERogen in the room), and I am really excited to learn more about how God is present even when we don't see or sense him. I hope Bonnie benefits from it, because I know none of us still understand why this has happened. Her blog is on the right, Sweet Caroline, if you want to read some of the incredible things she has written. Her faith is an inspiration to me. So keep up the prayers!

Rock Band at the Kavilirs

Ha, there are no words!

OK, so maybe this one was staged.

These are pictures of Greg and me playing Rock Band at Justin and Amanda's last night. We had a really great night with them. Justin is in law school with Greg, but he is taking his CPA test on Monday... maybe we should of let him be studying, haha!

Also, my blog is fixed... yay!!

Technical Difficulties!

Obviously, my blog is really messed up right now. I didn't design it to look like this! Thanks be to Lindsey for helping me so much. Now I just have to stop being a technical dummie!

Greg's gift to me!

This is a picture of my Christmas gift from Greg! I love it because it is a reminder of the Europe trip we are saving up for. We have never been to Europe together. We are hoping to go in Summer of 2011 after he takes passes the bar.  (Fingers crossed!)

One semester down...

Greg got his 1st semester law school grades back in today, and he felt very good about them. He didn't think he had done as well as he did. I couldn't be more proud of him!

Northen Family

Does Greggy need an EdgyWedgy???

My mother and father-in-law are missionaries in Cambodia (check out the link to their blog). They have been home since Thanksgiving and are leaving on Monday morning to go back oversees. Please, say a prayer that they get there safely. During their visit, we all went to Pagosa Springs, Colorado for some Christmas and snow skiing!

Stephens Wedding

I didn't take this picture, but I wanted to show off how great the bride and groom looked! They had a bluegrass band play during the reception. It was pretty cool... as you can see.

Greg and I went to the wedding of Ryan and Laura Stephens in Memphis over Christmas Break. It was a lot of fun, and Ryan and Laura looked so happy! The middle picture is of Greg and two other groomsmen, John and Nathaniel. They were all good friends in college at Harding, and I am glad they got to have a reunion.

"Hello, We're the Northens!"

Just be glad your family doesn't look like this.....

We love Life Groups!

Greg and I love to be involved in Life Groups through Church. This is a picture of our old Life Group from Little Rock. We get to missing our old friends sometime, and I just thought I would put up a picture from our "Going Away" party they threw us when we left. Our new Life Group in Fayetteville needs to get a picture soon so that I can post it, too! We are blessed to have so many good friends.

Prayers needed...

On January 4th, my "Grampsboy" passed away. It has been difficult, but my family will get through it. Knowing that he is in a place too great to imagine is the most comforting thought. The amount of support from everyone that came to his visitation and funeral was almost overwhelming. This picture was taken on December 14th when we had our Wilson Family Christmas. It was a very happy weekend... especially for the little one. :)

Also right now, I am mourning for my friend, Bonnie. Her husband, Thomas, was killed in a car wreck the day after Grampsboy passed. It has been kind of an overwhelming week for me. Please pray for my family, and also for Bonnie, her daughter, Caroline, and their baby-on-the-way. I know she needs it, and would appreciate it.

Our 2nd Christmas, but 1st tree

This picture was taken on our 1 year wedding anniversary (December 15th). Behind us is our first Christmas tree that Greg is still trying to get me to take down.

The weekend before our Anniversary, Greg and I went to Benton. On the way back to Fayetteville, we realized that we had forgotten the top of our wedding cake in my parents' freezer! We had planned on eating it on our Anniversary. So our good friend, Amanda, made us a mini-wedding cake that we would be able to eat that night. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful. And it was delicious!

...Obviously, Greg was really excited about it, too!

It's official... Greg and I are bloggers! I thought it would be a fun way to share pictures and stories easily with family and friends.
