Today I am writing a post in conjunction with Kelly's "Show us your life: How you met your husband."
I wish I could say that when Greg and I initially met, it was much sweeter than what actually happened. One night in May of 1998, I had a softball game that started at 9:00p.m. (Way too late, right? I know.) This meant that the game was not over until after 10:00. Now, normally I would feel nasty after a hard game of softball and would run home to take a shower and clean up before bed. But not on this night. This night was different. Our youth group at church had been invited to a lock-in at the Hot Springs Village Church of Christ, and I couldn't have been more excited. I even remember my mom asking, "Are you sure you don't want to go home and shower first??" But I was too pumped to clean myself up, so my mom drove stinky, dirty me forty-five minutes to the church building in HSV and dropped me off just before midnight. (I don't think I've ever said "thank you" for that, Mom.)
Honestly, I don't really remember meeting Greg that night. But he says that he remembers looking over and seeing some tall girl wearing a softball uniform covered in dirt, and thinking, "Why is she wearing those nasty clothes?" So romantic, I know.
I had a crush on Greg from junior high all throughout high school and college. He was always the most stable, well-grounded, Christian guy I knew. I was always grounded as a teenager too... but for different reasons :) Plus, Greg was hilarious!! What girl can resist a guy who makes her laugh until her cheeks hurt? We finally started dating our junior year of college (ABOUT TIME!) and married almost two years later. Dreams do come true.

What a cute story...obviously the "dirty Janice" didn't impact him at all ;) Your baby pictures are so precious!
